Laying the Foundation for Effective Business Software

Business Requirements and Analysis

In this group of services we work with clients to accomplish the following objectives:

First, to identify the Business Requirement that is to be satisfied.  This is the Desired Business Outcome and is a statement of the value that the project under consideration is expected to deliver.  The statement may be grounded in legal, financial, strategic or other considerations.

Second, to understand the ways that current business data and processes may be contributing to the need for the Business Requirement and the ramifications.  Processes that were optimal at one stage of the organization's development may no longer be so

And, third, to identify the changes in business data and processes that implementation of the Business Requirement will bring about.

And, finally, to ensure that the feasibility of the proposed project is documented appropriately and that the appropriate business case is made for the project.

We normally provide these services as part of the initial phases of a software project.  However, we can evaluate a completed project or assess a project currently under way, in which case we will examine earlier decisions and the information that led to them.
